If you require a lead in cable to your house, we can provide an underground or an overhead connection.

An underground connection requires a Telstra 23mm Lead in Conduit from the pit to the house prior to connection. If you don’t have any underground conduit we can arrange a site visit for civil engineering.

Typical path of the lead-in cabling to a single dwelling

a) Electricity enclosure on the same side of the building as the property entry point

LHS of house

b) Electricity enclosure on the opposite side of the building to the property entry point

RHS of house

Overhead lead in cabling

Overhead Lead in cabling can be provided (*if your existing lead in cable has been damaged and have an adjacent communications pole outside your house). A site visit will confirm this.

Clearance of aerial lines from the ground

The minimum ground clearances required for aerial lead-in cabling in residential areas are as follows:

  • Over any private land not traversable by road vehicles – 2.7m
  • Over any residential driveway – 3.5m
  • Over any commercial/industrial driveway or private roadway – 4.9m
